Silver Blue
by Paul Boden

I hear a train in the distance, rumbling down the track
And I wish I was on it, and it was taking me back
To the girl who said she loved me, and who always made me smile
I wouldn't care if that train ride was over a thousand miles
Just to see her face
And leave behind this lonely place

I hear a train whistle blowin', calling out to me
And I'd pack my bags in an instant if it could only be
But I don't know where you are now and so much time has gone by
So I guess I'll stay, and wipe these tears from my eyes

And every time I hear a train I always think of you
And the time we crossed the country on Amtrak's Silver Blue
And I wonder if
Trains do that to you to

Now I'm waiting at the station, watching people get off the train
And I look at all the faces, and almost call your name
But I guess I got the time wrong, and some other train you're on
But there's always tomorrow, and there's always another train
I play the game

And every time I hear a train I always think of you
And the time we crossed the country on Amtrak's Silver Blue
And I wonder if
Trains do that to you to

And every time I hear a train I always think of you
And the time we crossed the country on Amtrak's Silver Blue
And I wonder if
Trains do that to you to
